Rajendra Khandelwal (Raju) is the Chairman of Dhanwantary Group of Companies having their interest in pharmaceutical retail and bulk operations in Calcutta Metropolis. Born and graduated in Kolkata, completed his MBA and diploma in Pharmacy Management from Chennai. Joined Rotary in 1992 at Rotary Club of Calcutta New Alipore, Kolkata, West Bengal and served as Club President in 1997 – 98.

Past President Rajendra graduated from Rotary Leadership Institute and served the home District 3290 now christened to 3291 of Zone 6B of Rotary International served as different committees as convenor and chair persons.

He has been Asst. Governor for 3 consecutive years and Secretary General of RID 3290 in the year 2007-08. He has handled with his able leadership many important district and zonal assignments to further the cause of Rotary. Rajendra is actively associated with many chamber of commerce and business organisations including Confederation of Indian Industry, Merchants Chamber of Commerce, Bengal National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Calcutta Chamber of Commerce.

He is additional Secretary General of W.B. Federations of United Nations Associations and serving President of Rajasthan Brahman Sangh, an NGO. In professional front his business acumen has prompted him to held many important posts. He is the executive committee member and members of different social organisation, NGO’s and clubs including Bengal Chemists and Druggist Association, FOSMI, Public Relations Society of India, International Club, Calcutta Rowing Club, Dalhousie Athletic Club, Dakshin Kolkata Sansad and many other social organisations.

He has involved himself with many social activities and he is a familiar face in social circles He takes keen interest in Ghazals, Sufi and Rabindra Sangeet. Raju is closely associated with Ramkrishna Mission and is deeply in love with spirituality. His philanthropic services have alleviated many lives of less fortunate individuals.

His punch line says – Always Trust God and Time-tested Friends. Rajendra is a major donor to Rotary Foundation and his wife Shashi is a PHF and an active Inner Wheel Club member. They are blessed with two sons Rajat, an MBBS final year student and Ravindra, who is currently pursuing management under graduate studies (BBA) from Symbiosis, Pune.
