1. President Called 665th RWM to order 2. National Anthem was sung 3. President welcomed and thanked all for attending the RWM. 4. Last Minutes of meeting was read out and passed 5. President briefed the members present about the operational tie up with ENABLE INDIA for the running of ROTA SCHOOL and the commencement of the same from 7th September 2010. He invoked the members to donate in cash / kinds for meeting initial infrastructural expenses related to Utensils / Uniform / stationeries etc. 6. Discussion was held and members exchanged their viewpoints about the proposal mooted by Rtn Dr. P K Nemani with respect to collaboration with Sreerampore Municipality for installing 30 nos of Solar powered lamps in Sreemapore. The cost of each lamp is Rs. 30,000/- with installation and 3 years of maintenance. Municipality will bear 25% of the expenses. District grant will be available to the tune of 50%. Club needs to mobilize the balance 25% of the expenses. Members after lots of deliberation among themselves decided in favour of the project as it will augment ROTARY image and create awareness. The matter was referred to the board for final decision. Rtn Dr P K Nemani, Rtn Anirban Choudhuri and Rtn Arindam Pakrashi were entrusted with the responsibilities for negotiations with the Spot advertising vendors and the officials of the municipality and present a viability report to the board. 7. President informed the members that as per district request the registration fees for the DARBAR-E-DIL program has been revised to Rs. 250 from Rs. 200/-. 8. Secretary moved the motion to send the best wishes to IPP Rtn Debajit Choudhuri on his coming birthday on 1st September. 9. President thanked all for attending the meeting and invited the members to lunch at DOMINOS pizza.

1.President Called 664th RWM to order 2.National Anthem was sung 3.President welcomed and thanked all for attending the RWM. 4.Last Minutes of meeting was read out and passed 5.Referring the decision taken on Board meeting on 15th August 2010 regarding tie up with ENABLE INDIA to conduct our ROTA SCHOOL, members deliberated on the subject. It was decided that an agreement will be drawn with the same organization and a work order will be issued to them on trial basis for three months effective from 6th September 2010. The said agreement will seek clearly outline the roles and responsibilities of both the parties and necessary clauses will be put to protect the interest of the club in terms of any future mileage to be extracted by ENABLE INDIA. 6.Rtn Dr R D Dubey proposed a program to be conducted on World Heart Day named DARBAR-E-DIL on 26th September 2010, Sunday at Calcutta Rowing Club. Between 8 – 10 AM visitors will be able to avail the facilities of Blood Sugar test, ECG, LIPID Profile test followed by breakfast. Between 10-12 Noon a seminar will be conducted by 4-5 leading cardiologists with discussion topics being Burden of Heart Diseases and Risk Factors, Lifestyle Modifications, Life after Heart Attack, Newer Treatment Modalities. Post Seminar there will be 15 minutes of open house Question & Answer Session. Lunch will follow. Registration Fee is fixed at only Rs. 200/-. Due to space shortage, total no. of registrations will be limited to 150 only on a first come first served basis. 7.Our Club will be Lead Host along with RC Calcutta Metropolitan. There will be 2 more Clubs acting as Co-hosts. Sponsorship will be organized from external sources. 8. As proposed by Rtn Dr. P K Nemani, our club will jointly organize a Blood Donation camp at BELIAGHATA SWAGATHAM CLUB, 4 Ram Mohan Mullick Garden Lane, Kolkata – 700 010 on 12th September 2010. Expected no. of Blood Donors will be 80 and club will bear the cost of Blood Grouping and Blood Sugar Test and ECG to the extent of Rs. 5000/-
9.Secretary announced the receipt of letter from District to send nominations for TEAM LEADER and TEAM MEMBER positions for the GSE team scheduled to visit District 6680 club at ALABAMA, USA in May 2011. It was decided that in the next board meeting during 1st week of September, a decision will be taken in this regard. 10.President and IPP declared hosting a dinner party for club members on 4th September Saturday evening. Consequently no RWM will be held on 5th September 2010.

1. President Called 663rd RWM to order 2. National Anthem was sung 3. President welcomed and thanked all for attending the RWM. 4. Last Minutes of meeting was read out and passed 5. The RWM was preceded by 1st meeting of the TRUSTEES of RC Belvedere Gardens Trust. President intimated the members that so as to generate the initial corpus for the trust, each trustee is requested to pay an one time sum of Rs. 5,000/-. He also appealed to other members to donate at least Rs. 1000/- to the trust fund. 6. It was decided that a MOU is to signed with BANDHAB SAMITY at our RCC SHISHUKALYAN, CHETLA with respect to usage of RCC premise. The local club will need to take permission of our club before conducting any program on their own or letting any other organization utilize the facilities. Even if the permission is granted, our club name should be displayed during any function or program held in that premise. 7. President mooted the issue of felicitating President of RC Budge Budge and PDG Rtn Chandra Mohan for their direct help towards our IOL program and it was unanimously accepted. The date and venue is to be decided later on. 8. Mega Blood Donation Camp to be organized on 8th August at PRAKASH BHAWAN SALT LAKE will have participation from Subodh Mitra Memorial Hospital handling 100 donors, KPC handling 125 donors and ASHOK BLOOD BANK handling 250 donors. 9. Club was a co-host at ICM on Rotary Public Image held at Rotary Sadan on 31st July 2010 and the participating members discussed their gratifying experience. (PIC NEXT PAGE) 10. It was decided to invite DG and his wife to our Srawani programme. 11. Role and availability of EDITOR for publishing weekly club bulletins were discussed. There was a representation from Enable India Foundation. Their mission is “Empowering Children, youth women for sustainable development”. They are located at K8 Katju Nagar, Ground Floor, Kolkata – 700 032. There was a two member team led by Ms. Geeta Venkadakrishnan, (9830201145). They had requested us to allocate space at our ROTA school for conducting various programs for the target community in our RCC area. As there is a lot of synergy between their and our club vision areas, President and other members asked them to submit a formal proposal outlining the help they require in terms of resources or finance. The same will then be reviewed by our board. 6. Rtn Dibyendu Banerjee from RC Kolkata Metropolitan was the guest. He has promised assistance to our club in terms of helping to process up to 250 IOL cases. He also visited our Blood Donation and Eye Checkup camp on the same day. 7. Rtn Anand Gupta was felicitated by the club members for his contribution to building the ROTA School. Rtn Arindam Pakrashi read out the CITATION. 8. Members donated Rs. 6600/- towards the cost of 240 spectacles at the Eye Checkup camp to be held at Tarapith on 7th August 2010. Total donation received was Rs. 14600/- with the pending Rs. 8000/- donated by Bhaskar Banerjee.

5. President thanked all for participating in the farewell programme of Deepak Deshmukh. He reiterated once more Deepak’s initiative in organizing Roofing materials for the ROTA SCHOOL at Chetla and informed all members of him been awarded a CITATION recognizing his contribution to the club.
6. President presented the report on recent projects: - Eye Checkup Camp on 17th July 2010 at Bible Church, 31 B B Ganguly Street where 205 patients were attended to along with processing of 80 cases of free spectacles and 22 IOL surgeries. Out of the IOL cases identified on 10th July camp, 10 surgeries have already been performed and patients are well with follow up check scheduled properly.
7. President announced the plan of one Blood Donation camp and one Eye checkup camps, on 25th July at RCC CHETLA. There is plan afoot to distribute mosquito nets. He also intimated the club that request has been received from Ward no. 8 (Shyambazar) for conducting one Eye Checkup Camp.
8. IPP Debajit suggested maintaining a Project Activity tracking sheet and uploading into our website on a regular basis. This will serve as reminder as where do we stand in terms o our target and what areas we are missing out as against the target set in COTS.
9. It was decided to call a TRUSTEES’ meeting to discuss bank opening and fixing roles and responsibilities of members of board of trustees.
10. President announced that MID DAY MEAL scheme will be launched on 15th August 2010 and annual budget is Rs. 96,000/-. This money is to be sought as contribution to be organized by LINDA SCHUCK, the leader of last visiting GSE team.
11. President informed that NIS is organizing a Blood Donation Camp on 8th August 2010 and requested to club to be associated with the same.
12. As part of Vocational Services projects, a ROTARY EMPLOYMENT EXCHANGE program is to be initiated and IPP Debajit will take the lead initiative by 28th July 2010.
13. Rtn Prem Rajpal is to be appointed as DIRECTOR, CLUB SERVICES in place of Rtn Deepak Deshmukh.

President introduced a very senior Rtn Bhupen Roy of RC Amtala. Rtn Bhupen Roy is aged 87 and has been a Rotarian for the last 50 years. In his speech he mentioned of the days when he used to hand over Rotary News to Newspapers for publication. He expressed his gratitude to Rotary for helping him attend Olympics at Mexico. He stressed on the theme of Service above Self and thanked Rotary for not feeling alone even in this advanced age without his wife whom he had lost earlier. He outlined his endeavours related to under privileged persons and plans to build shelters under HEART TO HEART theme. He invited the club members to send at least one representative to his Independence Day morning program at West Bengal Kabadi Tent, Mayo Road, Kolkata with the agenda being felicitation of centurions followed by Disabled, Breakfast & Tea. Rtn Roy presented a memento our club president, who thanked him profusely for attending our club RWM.
6. President presented the report on recent projects: - Blood Donation Camp on 4th July 2010 at Ramgarh Pally where 56 has donated Blood. Eye Checkup Camp on 10th July 2010 at Bible Church, 31 B B Ganguly Street where 135 patients were attended to along with processing of 60 cases of free spectacles and 13 IOL surgeries.
7. President announced the plan of two more eye checkup camps, on 17th July at the same place and on 18th July at 36C Nalini Sarkar Street near Naree Siksha Sadan (Shyambazar)
8. President announced with pleasure the donation of US$ 2500 by Kumar Chatterjee, a Bengali settled in Indiana, USA to the SARVIK project
9. IPP Debajit announced the e-mail confirmation from PDG Linda SCHUCK (the leader of last visiting GSE team) towards the sponsorship of ROTA SCHOOL, Chetla MID Day Meal Program amounting to Rs. 65,000/-
10. President announced that MID DAY MEAL scheme will be launched on 15th August 2010
11. President also informed that local councilor is taking initiatives to upgrade the Toilet at the building, RCC Chetla
12. With the TRUST formed, name correction done, discussion was held as how fast a Bank account can be opened. Considering the international donations to be received from now, this is to be opened with a Bank / branch having FOREX handling facility
13. President and PP Deep Chandra informed the club of DG’s request to discontinue with the distribution of food packets to the staff at Polio booths. In his opinion this is wastage and does not add any value to Rotary movement in this area. He rather wanted us to stress on Publicity, Awareness building campaign etc. PP Deep Chandra requested President to extend the existing Polio Eradication Committee by inducting himself, PP Rtn Anand Gupta, Director (International Services), IPP Rtn Debajit Choudhur, President Elect Rtn Kishore Butta, Treasurer Rtn Debjyoti Basu, Rtn Chandrachur Ghose,
14. Rtn PP Dr P K Nemani declared that Government has declared to hand over the running of 2 Health Checkup Camps at TANGRA, GARDEN REACH area to NGO / voluntary organizations. He requested president to look into the possibilities / logistics / capabilities of our club being involved in the project.
15. Rtn Deepak Deshmukh is getting transferred to his home city of Mumbai and club decided to organize a farewall dinner on this occasion on 13th evening at CRC.
16. Considering the so many activities in the pipeline and important decisions to be taken regarding the projects, it has been decided to hold 1st CLUB ASSEMBY on 18th July 2010. The RWM is to be merged with the assembly and venue will be CRC and timing from 11 AM onwards.

Last Minutes of meeting was read out and passed with suggestions on formatting 5. President informed everybody on the grand inauguration of our 1st ROTAL school on 1st July 2010 by RIPN Kalyan Banerjee, who was Chief Guest. DG Raejndra Khandelwal and other key district officials were present. 6. It was decided that there will be around 42 RWM this year with 12 meetings clubbed with Project activity 7. Provisional Club Calendar for the whole year will be published by July 8. At the beginning of each calendar month, actual calendar will be published 9. President underscored the need of documentation with respect to RPL based reporting. 10. President announced that on this day, a blood donation camp is being organized at 47 Pally, Ramgarh 11. President also announced conducting two eye check up camps on 10th and 17th July at Bible Church, 31 B B Ganguly Street in association with KOSISH. PDG Chandra Mohan has promised to send 1 doctor. Our target is 200 patients 12. Ann Mithu Pakrashi was appointed as ROTA School director and asked to submit report on finalization of Curriculum, school administration to Board within 7 days 13. Rtn Arindam had visited Savarmati Ashram at Ahmedabad and handed over a Bapuji memento to President Anirban 14. Rtn Arindam also declared that RC TIDAHOLM has regretted their inability to participate in the SARVIK matching grant project as the documentation was delayed. They have also assured that they will definitely adopt the same in the next quarter with the window slated to open again in September 2010 and 100% sure of seeing it through the final approval process at Rotary International. The bottom-line of all these is fund will not available for this project till Jan – Feb 2011. IPP Debajit was requested to talk to SARVIK as whether they can wait till that period. 15. Rtn Arindam, Editor proposed publishing of formal Club Bulletin on a monthly basis. The same will be electronically distributed to Club members and selected district officials. On special occasions, a handful of hard copy Bulletins will be printed for distribution.

He also invoked selfless service from the Rotarians to improve the image of the organization. His speech was a endering one punctuated with subtle humours and the same time converying the lesson of working with the motto of serving the society. - DG handed over 9 cheques to needy girl students under SUKANYA UPOHAR scheme - DG handed over 1 cheque to a Polio affected boy under SATHI HATH BARALEI BONDHU scheme - Nearly all the girls & boys handed over a hand made card as token of appreciation to the DG. He was literally moved by the gesture - Rtn Aloke Dey conducted the club business informing all about the attendance, Sunshine collection of Rs. 2400. Everybody was informed that there will be no RWM on 27th June and the 1st RWM of the new year will be held on 4th July 2010 at ASTOR Hotel. All those present were requested to attend the inauguration of our ROTA school on 1st July 2010 at RCC Chetla. - Rtn Subhankar Patra narranted his experience of attending a project at Piyali, South 24 Parganas on invitaion from Metropolitan and proposed participation of our club in the Learning Centre Project through a matching grant. He will follow-up and brief our club in details around April 2010
- Presindet discussed a offer from District Governor to get involved with a Vocational computer centre project organized at Belgachai by NABADISHA with active involvement of Kolkata Police. The project is to be inaugurated on 26th Feb 2010 by Hon. Chief Minister of WB. The project requires contribution of around 90K with a matching grant from District. The club members are of the opinion that unless club gets a chance to play an active role in imparting Education, it will not just be a party in financial contribution. President was requested to follow it up with DG.

The RWM was held after the monthly MCH camp conducted by Dr. Nemani and Dr. Sen (Outside doctor). 35 Child patients were treated and each was given 1 copy of biscuit packet.

The Club is planning to set-up a Eye-Hospital with Matching Grant from District and looking around to locate a suitable property / land to set-up the same. Towards this objective, after the Project work, Members had gone to check a currently closed (Non Functional) Medical Unit at Chetla. The property is owned by Kolkata Corporation and were leased to Thalassemia Foundation (Mithun Chakraborty). After successful running for quite some time, the unit operation was suspended by the Trustees / Management. The Built up facility is really impressive and from Club side, we shall check up with KMC and present Trustees as whether we can have a partnership with them to re-open the facility as an Eye-Hospital. Approximate Investment is around 50 Lakhs (25 Lakhs for Equipment only). The site visit report will be referred to the Club Board to take appropriate decision as whether it should be taken forward to the next stage.
The Members then met at Super Snacks Bar, New Alipore Petrol Pump and refreshed themselved with Masal Dhosa and Coffee.

collaboration with Sarvik, an NGO. The objective is to collect a donation of US$ 12000 from

Program on Environment
IPP Deep Chandra mooted the idea of conducting a program on 9th Nov on Environment.This will stress mainly on topics of conservation like water , electrciity. Rtn Jayashree Roy has agreed to provide all necessary help. The idea is involve District and co-partner other Clubs. RC Calcutta Metro City has agreed to be a Co - Partner

HOSPITEX 2010
Rtn Dr. Nemani proposes to participate in this program to held between 4th Jan - 8th Jan 2010 at Rabindrasadan Prangan. The club may put up a stall to showcase our work in Medical fields and also provide speakers on seminars related to Lifestyle, Communicable Disease, Health due to Environmental Change etc. With an approximate footfall of 1,50,000/- per day the opportunity gives our club a unique chance to spread Rotary Awareness and do relavant Publicity.
Last but not the least
President#s prolonged absence from club make members speculate about his serious effort with respect to getting matching grants from Rotary Clubs in USA. Members are looking forward to hear from him in this regard !!!!!!!!

Being the last Sunday of the month, the RWM was merged with Shishukalyan, Chetla
Dr. R D Rubey and Dr. Chandrachur Ghose checked the patients as part of regular Mother & Child Health Checkup

- Club venue Astor to continue also to keep talks on for HHI for new venue.
- Sawani to be celebrated on 2nd Aug at Astor.
- Our club organised Blood donation camp at Jagriti Club in association with Lifecare on 19th July and 72 units of
blood were collected, General Health check up & Eye check up for cataract screening were also done. 2-units of
blood were donated by our club : 1-unit by Rtn Seema Pathania & 1-unit by Ann Sharmistha Of Rtn Subhankar Patra.
Both are to be duly felicitated by our club.
- Gall stone operation was done on a maid of Rtn Debojit Chowdhury at KPC Medical college at a cost of Rs. 6800/- approx.
- A Heart Operation of one poor patient 19 yrs. Male with congenital defect is proposed by Rtn Debojit Chowdhury
with funding of Rs 20000/- by club members and balance will be by the DG#s grant.
- Another patient aged 19 yrs. female with certain Beta drug immunity defect needs treatment at a cost of Rs 1 lac
of which Rs 75000/- has been arranged by Rtn.Debojit Chowdhury#s sister staying overseas & balance Rs 25000/-
would be contribution from club members. Rtn Dr Nemani has been entrusted for accertaining all legal aspects
before new drug adminstration.Relevant papers to be delivered to Dr Nemani for proper analysis of the case.
- Medical camp on 9th July at sandeshkhali proposed by Rtn Dr Dubey
- Club is the co-host on Rotary Intercity Meet on 9th July at Rotary Sadan in which our club cotribution would be
Rs. 3000/-
- On 31st July some of our board members will visit "SAVERA"-A school for the mentally challenged children & to
look at the possibility of help they may require, as proposed by Rtn PC Sinha.
